Colleagues from Sainsbury’s have been selling Comic Relief merchandise from Hovertravel’s Ryde terminal including red noses, wrist bands, deeley boppers and scratch cards with several buckets being used to collect donations.
Loretta Lale, Commercial and Marketing Manager at Hovertravel said:
“We are delighted to be teaming up with our local Sainsbury’s branch. Our staff are always keen to show their support for Comic Relief and with our local supermarket we can help make a difference. Sainsbury’s has a great selection of merchandise to sell and around 60p of the every pound that’s raised goes straight to help transform the lives of millions of people, both here in the UK and across Africa.”
Maria Bird, Store Manager at Sainsbury’s Ryde said:
“We are thrilled to have the support of Hovertravel to help us raise money for Comic Relief. Since our store opened on Union Street in October we have been made to feel very welcome, this is another example of the community coming together to help others.
“Our colleagues love getting involved with Red Nose Day fundraising and we have some brilliant activities planned. By raising cash this Red Nose Day, you’re helping to change lives forever. That’s because Comic Relief spends the money raised to help change the lives of poor, vulnerable and disadvantaged people across the UK and Africa.”
To encourage donations from customers, Hovertravel staff have been wearing red noses throughout the day.
