The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Freemasons last week presented a cheque for £4,000 to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA).
The presentation was made by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Freemasons, William Withers, to HIOWAA CEO Alex Lochrane at the charity’s air base in Thruxton.
Assistant Provincial Grand Master, William Withers said:
“We are delighted to be able to show our support for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance once again. Charitable giving is central to Freemasonry and Hampshire and Isle of Wight Freemasons are especially happy to support organisations that help to save lives and provide support to people in emergency situations. The Freemasons’ Grand Charity works on behalf of all Freemasons in England and Wales, donating millions of pounds to worthy causes every year”.
HIOWAA CEO, Alex Lochrane commented:
“The Freemasons are one of our most loyal supporters and they have donated many thousands of pounds to HIOWAA since the charity became operational in July 2007. We are very grateful to them for their ongoing support and for playing such a significant role in helping to keep the Air Ambulance flying”.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance flies seven days a week and attends an average of two to three missions a day, many of them life saving. The charity receives no government, statutory or national lottery funding for operational purposes, and is entirely dependent on gifts received from members of the public, companies and grant-making bodies to keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.
