Dolly, a 3-year-old rescue cat from the Cat Adoption Centre in Ryde, has been found safe and well some 5 weeks after disappearing from her adoptive home in Cowes.
Dolly trekked over a mile to Cowes Yacht Haven where she boarded a luxury motor cruiser, stowed away and ended up in Poole in Dorset. As Dolly had been microchipped, it has been possible to reunite her with her adoptive family back on the Isle of Wight.
Debs Murphy-Latham and daughters Natasha (10) and Annabelle (7) adopted Dolly in 2014. Debs, Managing Director of vipcottages.com, is more used to sending people on holiday to luxury cottages on the Isle of Wight, and Dolly her cat had clearly had a taste for the finer things in life, hitching a ride on a luxury motor cruiser from Cowes.
Dolly was collected by Debs, Natasha and Annabelle in Southampton yesterday (Sunday).
