Creative Cafe POSTER January 2015Local charity Independent Arts has announced the launch of Creative Café, after receiving funding from Spectrum Housing Community Fund.

The Creative Café is a regular group for older people providing a different and exciting creative activity along with an opportunity to socialise, and learn something new every week.

The aim of the Creative Café is to improve health and wellbeing by facilitating access to highly creative activities including iPads, digital photography, music, visual art and craft. It provides a supportive and welcoming environment for older people, who can come together every week, make new friends and express themselves through creative activity. No previous experience is necessary as sessions are relaxed and are suitable for all abilities.

Creative Café starts on Monday 16th February and runs every Monday at the Methodist Church in Quay Street, Newport from 10:00 until midday. Sessions are free, and refreshments are provided.
