Police officers have been dealing with numerous incidents over the past couple of days including suspected drink drivers, assaults, criminal damage, attempted arson, missing persons, domestic-related incidents, drug offences and the possession of an offensive weapon.
Hampshire Constabulary have been busy on the Isle of Wight dealing with numerous incidents between Friday and Sunday including, but not limited to:
- Several missing people searches on occasions where holidaymakers had lost family members who were suffering from medical conditions.
- Police ask for visitors to ensure their loved ones are secure and safe.
- A male was arrested in Newport for possession of an offensive weapon after allegedly brandishing it at someone.
- A police officer searched the suspect and found a large multi-tool that you would not have a reasonable excuse to carry around the town at night.
- Officers were directed to a male being abusive to the public and smoking cannabis in Cowes.
- He was said to be very abusive and was clearly suffering the effects of alcohol and various drugs. The male was searched and found to be in possession of cannabis. He will be dealt with at a later date.
- Another male was arrested and charged with drink driving on a Beryl e-scooter.
- He will attend court at a later date.
- Police have said they will be in contact with the council and Beryl to discuss what actions can be taken to reduce the risk of harm to others and prevent these occurrences from happening.
- A fight broke out in Ryde which prompted several officers to attend.
- A female was arrested for domestic-related offences.
- A male was arrested for disorderly behaviour on a bus.
- A male has been arrested for assault and attempted arson.
- A male has been arrested for criminal damage.
- A male was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
Several other incidents have also taken place over the past couple of days which have been dealt with outside of custody or require further evidence before further action can be taken.
In their post on social media, they say there was a long wait for A&E on Friday night, if your condition is not critically urgent, please call 111 and they will give you the best advice.
In other news, the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service have been called to GKN Aerospace in East Cowes on 2 occasions within 24-hours – firstly on Friday evening to a sprinkler room fire and secondly on Saturday night for an autoclave industrial oven fire.
The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service alongside colleagues from HM Coastguard were called to a woman needing medical attention in Sandown.
Are these locals or mainlanders? My guess is the mainlanders, the ignorant ones who can’t go the the normal chavvy locations on the continent. So they come here and cause trouble instead.
Becoming the norm for a island week end, pretty worrying. This place is changing rapidly, and NOT for the better.

I could tell you a good few of the reasons but the comment would either never be allowed to see the light of day or more likely be removed as it seems some here don’t like hearing the truth. Who do you think is to blame for everything going so far downhill the way it has? The social reformers have a lot to answer for, that’s a start. Yep agreed. Where is the punishment? The magistrates cant or wont give out real punishment. Suspended sentence, bit of community service here and there, result can the police be bothered?

Yes, I could tell you that too, but they wouldn’t like that either. Too many snowflakes everywhere, too many do gooders bringing society down to a level where we all suffer because of it. Stop the do gooders firstly, but how to do it is another question?
