Motorists will face a 9-mile diversion for over 2-and-a-half months in early 2021 due to utility works taking place in Wroxall.
Southern Gas Networks will be working on St John’s Road for a 10-week period from Monday 18th January.
The road closure will be ‘rolling’ and will vary at times between the house known as Hillsbro to just south of Coombe Park.
All traffic will be diverted via Shanklin and Ventnor to access the south end of Wroxall – a 20 minute, 9-mile diversion in both directions.
Residents hoping to use Redhill Lane as a diversion route are out of luck as the country lane will be closed to all traffic to prevent local motorists using this as a diversion route.
