There’s just a month to go until nominations close for St John Ambulance’s annual Everyday Heroes awards.
The first aid charity’s awards (www.sja.org.uk/everydayheroes) celebrate inspiring stories of first aid heroism from the general public and organisers are calling for final nominations to be made before the closing date of 24 March.
This year’s awards are supported by Laerdal – the creators of Resusci Anne – who share St John Ambulance’s vision that no one should die unnecessarily and that CPR skills and increased use of AEDs (automated external defibrillators) are key to achieving this.
Everyday Heroes 2015 saw the highest ever number of nominations and St John Ambulance is asking the public to get in touch and tell them about friends, family members, colleagues, and even strangers who’ve saved lives or championed first aid.
Mark Farmer, Regional Director for St John Ambulance in the South East, said:
“Everyone has the ability to save a life and our Everyday Heroes awards give us a chance to celebrate those who are doing just that.
“We’re on the lookout for anyone who has gone out of their way to help people through first aid – from life savers, to campaigners, teachers, and fundraisers.

Entries close at 17:00 on Thursday 24th March 2016 and nominees will be invited to a star-studded ceremony – hosted by Myleene Klass – in London, at The Grange St Pauls on 7th September.
