23-year-old Sean Michael Donovan has been charged with a number of driving offences, including drug driving, following a pursuit in Wootton earlier this year.
On 11th May 2020, Police pursued a VW Polo after its driver failed to stop for officers. The pursuit came to an end on a country lane leading to Woodside Bay.
Mr Donovan, of Mary Rose Avenue, Wootton, has been charged with 4 offences; drug driving (cannabis), driving otherwise in accordance with a licence, driving without third party insurance and failing to stop.
He will appear before the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court tomorrow (Tuesday).
Quite easy to explain. This council is giving more permission for building over huge swathes of green field and brown field sites than has happened on the Island for years.
As many of these newly built homes won’t all be for Island people, our council get payment from other mainland councils to take in their excess tenants.
Of course those councils are only too pleased to encourage their most troublesome tenants to leave and our council will take them on, as ‘they’ themselves won’t be living anywhere near them, but will gain financially, as the payment and thousands of new homes paying council tax, then swells council coffers, making pay rises, new jobs for the family, friends and of course larger perks, pensions and expenses can all be far more easily ‘justified’ from an engorged pot of money.
Some hint at developers and land owners, sending thank you cards for their gain when planning is granted, but that can only be guessed at.
So having more homes, with likely many similar tenants will greatly increase such crimes, and many far worse.
Remember this, and mark my words, not now, but in a decade, and I am sure you will grudgingly silently admit I was right.
Too late, then, but watch and learn.
No-one likes to think the worst but now it is inevitable with this council, so vote them out.
