Iain McKie, UKIP parliamentary candidate for the Isle of Wight, has said that UKIP IW propose to petition the cross-Solent ferry companies to introduce a flat price structure for Island residents to help plan trips and budget accordingly.
Should Mr McKie be elected as the Island’s MP for 2015, Mr McKie will also investigate whether or not a dedicated Ferry Ombudsman, similar to the Scottish system, would be an effective public champion.
In addition, it has been said today (Wednesday) that Iain will investigate the viability of an enforced break up of the mooring businesses from the sailings business which he believes may be an effective way of introducing competition into the market place.
