Following the completion of Phase 1 of the ongoing refurbishment of the Blood Sciences service in Pathology at St Mary’s Hospital, it is necessary to move the automated analytical equipment to enable Phase 2 to be started.
In order to facilitate this relocation, the Phlebotomy services at St Mary’s and Ryde Outpatients Department will be closed on Wednesday (5th March). All Island GPs are aware of the situation and have been advised to only take urgent blood tests on this day.
It is intended that, with a smooth transfer of the equipment, service will return to normal on Thursday (6th March).
