Cowes-based charity Storeroom2010 is celebrating its 5th birthday next week with a free delivery offer and an open day. 

In celebration of the milestone and as a present to customers, all furniture items purchased and paid for in full on Wednesday 1st July will qualify for free delivery at a later date, anywhere on the island.

2015 has been a fantastic year so far for the charity, who opened their new education unit on 8th June, with their seventh Level One Carpentry and Joinery course. Storeroom also continues to offer the Health & Safety in Construction courses for those seeking their CSCS labourers card.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERARecently Storeroom have also commenced First Aid at Work courses and Level 2 Carpentry courses will start next month. All these courses are free for local unemployed people.

An open day is to be hosted next Thursday (2nd July) between 10:00-15:00 giving locals the chance to meet the education staff and enjoy a free cuppa. Potential new learners, support agency staff, businesses and of course any other members of the general public are being welcomed to the event. The education centre is just a stone’s throw from Storeroom, at 25/26 Somerton Industrial Park, PO31 8PA.

As well as offering free courses to unemployed Islanders, the charity have recently commenced some courses and activities for paying clients.  Profits from these will be ploughed back into the Skills Gap Training project and help to provide even more courses for those who are unemployed.
