Homeowners with staddle stones on their property are being urged to keep an eye on them by Police following recent thefts.
A top stone was stolen from a property on the outskirts of Carisbrooke between the early evening of Thursday (23rd July) and the morning of Friday (25th July). Even though the top stone was secured by a metal bolt and strong glue, the offenders managed to cut through the bolt and take it.
A further three staddle stone tops (pictured left) were taken from Alvington Manor Farm earlier this week after being present on the farm for hundreds of years.
Anyone who has information regarding the thefts or anyone who sees anything suspicious are asked to ring Police on 101.
