A busy road in Shanklin has reopened this afternoon following a partial collapse of the carriageway earlier this month.
Landguard Road has been closed for the past three weeks after a large hole appeared in the road at the junction with Collingwood Road and Falcon Cross on the 4th January before increasing in size in a matter of hours.
Work to repair the through road between Lake and Shanklin Old Village has been completed allowing the road to safely reopen and Southern Vectis buses to operate a normal route once again.
The closure was initially hoped to be in place for just a few days, as reported by Island Echo.
