An Isle of Wight Council registrar found herself in the unique position of conducting the wedding ceremony for her daughter.
Elaine Cesar, who works as an events manager for the Council but is also a qualified registrar for the local authority, read the vows at Emma Cesar and Ashley Green’s wedding at Northwood House in Cowes on Saturday 25th July.
The bride and groom were blessed with sunny conditions and were welcomed into the house by music from the Isle of Wight Society String Quartet.
Elaine said:
“It was an incredible experience and honour to take the wedding ceremony for my daughter and is something I never dreamt of.
“It was a very emotional ceremony sharing with family and friends, but I loved every minute of it and had to blink back a few tears. There were plenty of tears from the guests!
“We had a lovely high tea from Wight Vintage and plenty of entertainment during the day. It was an amazing occasion and one all our family will never forget.”
The happy couple have since jetted off on their honeymoon to the Maldives.
