Police officers have this afternoon (Saturday) responded to reports of a man in a distressed state on top of the multi-storey car park in Newport.
South Street in the town was cordoned off near to the Sports Direct store for a short period whilst officers talked the man down, who was threatening to jump from the top of the Co-Operative car park.
Thankfully, no one has been injured in the incident. The gentleman has been led to safety and is now in the care of medical teams.
