UPDATED: Three people were arrested earlier today (Wednesday) following an incident at Newport Quay, which resulted in several Police units attending.
Officers were called to a public order incident outside The Bargeman’s Rest pub just after 13:00. Four Police units responded to the scene.
A total of three teenagers were detained on suspicion of assault and taken to Newport Police Station for questioning.
UPDATE THURSDAY: It has been confirmed that a 17-year-old has now been charged with assault.
Meanwhile, a second 17-year-old has been charged with using threatening or abusive words or behaviour and a third teenager, a 16-year-old, has been charged after failing to leave the area when directed to by Police.
The three teens will appear in front of the Isle of Wight Youth Court on 1st October.
