The Isle of Wight Council’s parks service in conjunction with grounds maintenance contractor John O’Conner Ltd invited the 8th Ryde Methodist Brownies, under the guidance of Caroline Seaward, to participate in the annual planting of bedding displays along Ryde Seafront earlier this week.
Groups of Brownies worked with staff from John O’Conner and members of Ryde Town Council to plant a selection of summer bedding plants in the raised tubs at Western Gardens and The Rose Garden on Wednesday.
The event was a good example of the Isle of Wight Council working with the community to provide an enjoyable evening for the young people that participated, who will proudly watch as the displays grow and blossom over the coming weeks.
