The number of people claiming the unemployment benefit Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) fell slightly during August to 1,172.
In July a total of 1,212 Islanders aged 18-65 were claiming JSA, however last month that number fell by 40. Year-on-year, the Island has seen a fall of 330 claimants compared to August 2014.
The number is expected to rise during September as the summer season ends, leaving many residents unemployed.
