The next meeting of the Isle of Wight NHS Trust Board, being held tomorrow at 09:30, has been moved from St Mary’s Hospital to the nearby Innovation Centre on St Cross Business Park, Newport due to the ongoing Norovirus outbreak.
Members of the public are welcome to attend and papers are available on the Trust’s website at https://www.iow.nhs.uk/about-us/our-trust-board/2014-board-papers.htm.
Mark Price, Company Secretary at Isle of Wight NHS Trust comments:
“Due to the current outbreak of Norovirus we have moved the venue of this meeting. This is line with the current restrictions on movements in and out of St Mary’s Hospital.
“Whilst a number of meetings have been cancelled we felt that this meeting, which makes important decisions in public about how we provide health services on the Island, should continue. The alternative location is close to the St. Mary’s site which we hope will minimise any inconvenience.”
Items on the agenda include:
- Recognition of staff achievements including the new Employee of the Month award
- Verbal updates from the Trust Chairman and Chief Executive
- Performance of the Trust across all areas including ambulance, community, hospital and mental health services reported in the Trust performance report.
- Feedback from patients and staff including actions from ward and clinic visits by Board members, and filmed patient feedback and a ‘staff story’.
- Business cases for the new Endoscopy facility
Mark continued:
“We encourage members of the Trust members, the public, staff and anyone with an interest in the Island’s health service to attend our Trust Board meetings to see how the local NHS is governed. Although this is not a ‘public meeting’ at which anyone can speak members of the public are invited to send questions in before the meeting to [email protected].”
The next meeting of the Trust Board following this meeting will be on Wednesday 30th April 2014.
