A ‘sex ban’ is in force for couples living apart in both Tier 2 and 3 areas across England as they’re still unable to mingle indoors, but luckily the Isle of Wight has escaped such restraints.
With the Island in Tier 1, it means that sex is still allowed between those who don’t live together – the Isle of Wight being just 1 of just 3 places across the country where this is permitted.
Health Secretary Matt Hancock was recently asked about the rules for people in relationships but living in different houses. Hancock confirmed those living under Tier 2 and 3 restrictions would only be able to see each other outside – but stressed those impacted should read the guidance for their area.
He said:
“The rules about exactly what is permitted in each of the tiers is on the Gov.uk website.
“I start my answer with that because for everybody watching if you’re in a specific situation, then the best thing to do is to go and look precisely at the rules.
“Now of course I understand the impact on people who are in a long-term relationship and we have made specific provision.
“But the general rule for those who are in Tier 2 is that the rule of 6 applies outdoors, including for instance in a private garden, but indoors you should only be mixing with people who are in your own household.”
In September, the ‘sex ban’ rule was briefly lifted for couples in established relationships, but a spike in COVID cases meant it was re-introduced.

While this is obviously good news here, it just goes to show how daft these tiers are.
In tier 3, you can go and get a hair cut, with someone standing right next to you and breathing over you, or go to the swimming pool or the gym with everyone sweating and breathing heavily, without wearing a mask, or go into a supermarket with unlimited numbers of other people (unless the retailer decides otherwise, but who will not ensure everyone wears a mask).
But you cannot go to a pub where everyone, customers and staff alike, wears a mask at all times (the only exception being for customers when seated) where you are two metres from the next table of customers, where you have to leave your contact details on arrival, and where numbers are strictly controlled.
Yep – that’s ‘Brave New World’ for you.

I think the author of this article is trying to brighten our day. It’s so ridiculous it’s hilarious.
we need something to laugh about at the moment don’t we.
There is in my house.
As a large percentage of us are of pensionable age keepie uppie is to do with football now, not nookie .But you never know ? So let’s keep it on the Island
If your primary concern is that you can’t have sex then maybe you should not be breeding.
not that anyone has taken a blind bit of notice of the government on this point, ever.
if anyone has allowed their sex lives to be dictated by another human being, sat in an office in the houses of parliament, then you might as well give up now and consider your life meaningless.
But that’s exactly what the governement are doing, taking away our rights one at a time because of a virus with a 99% survival rate, it was man made for dictatorship. Fear gives control
“Hancock confirmed those living under Tier 2 and 3 restrictions would only be able to ‘see’ each other outside”
that’ll be a increase in the popularity of dogging then :-))
