A ban preventing dogs from exercising on the Island’s beaches has been lifted today (Wednesday) as October gets underway.
The season-long restriction has been in place since 1st May to keep dogs both on and off leads away from the tourist hotspots during the warmer months.
Dog owners can now enjoy beaches such as Compton, Cowes, Freshwater Bay, Gurnard, Ryde, Sandown, Shanklin, Totlan and Ventnor, as well as the all-year-round dog friendly beaches at Bonchurch, Brook, Fort Victoria, Colwell Bay, Dunroamin (Lake), Reeth Bay (South Wight), Woodside Bay (Wootton), Players Beach (Binstead) and Seagrove (Seaview).
Nationally, vehicle tax discs have been abolished. Motorists no longer have to display a tax disc in their vehicle’s windscreen, however do still have to pay the duty.
