Roger Pitcher, Chairman of myaware Isle of Wight, is thanking customers and staff at Sainsbury’s in Newport for their generosity during a recent charity collection which raised £126.17.
Myaware is the new working name for the Myasthenia Gravis Association, (MGA) which celebrates 40 years in 2016 and was formed to support and help people with several types of Myasthenia, as well as offering support to the individual’s family and friends.
The aim of myaware is to provide information, advice (non-medical) and support as well as raising awareness of the varying forms of Myasthenia, all of which are rare.
The money raised will be sent to myaware headquarters in Derby for use in this very important work.
Island-wide there are at least 12 islanders known to have one of the Myasthenia conditions/syndromes.
For further information contact Lynne Pitcher, either by email on [email protected] or by phone on 01983 761265.
