A 52-year-old man from Sandown was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm following an assault in Ryde yesterday afternoon (Wednesday).
Police were called to George Street shortly before 16:30, resulting in 6 units responding to the scene.
Initial investigations led to the arrest of the 52-year-old man, who was taken to Newport Police Station for questioning.
He has since been bailed until 13th January.
Enquiries continue.
