Leisureplex Hotels, sister company of coach holiday operator Alfa Travel, have this week announced the purchase of The Shanklin Hotel.
Leisureplex has been catering for clients on coach holidays for over 30 years in top seaside resorts throughout Great Britain. The purchase of the Clarendon Road property brings the Leisureplex estate to a total of 21 hotels in the UK. The Shanklin will be the group’s second hotel on the Isle of Wight alongside the Bayshore Hotel which is in nearby Sandown.
The Shanklin has 89 rooms, on site parking, an indoor leisure complex with swimming pool and an indoor bowls area. However, it is probably best known for its magnificent Starlite Room which is a superb venue for dinner dances and entertainment with breathtaking, panoramic views across the bay.
Leisureplex Managing Director, Paul Sawbridge, commented:

The Shanklin Hotel was awarded the Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Award in 2013.
