This is your round-up of some of the latest court cases heard at the Isle of Wight Magistrates Court.
Monday 26th October – Friday 30th October 2020
• Jeremy Lake, 57, of Fort Warden Road, Totland was fined £184 and ordered to pay costs of £85 for producing a Class B drug, namely cannabis. He was also told to pay a surcharge of £34.
• Mark Andrew Eldridge, 54, of Quay Street in Newport, was found guilty of assault by beating. He was ordered to complete 20 rehabilitation days and pay compensation of £400.
• Matthew Charles Hodder, 30, of Lammas Close in Cowes, pleaded guilty to criminal damage. He was ordered to complete 25 rehabilitation days and 180 hours of unpaid work. He must also pay £783.95 compensation, costs of £85 and a surcharge of £95. Hodder also pleaded guilty to assault by beating x5.
• Bradley Tolfrey, 20, of Newport Street in Ryde, admitted criminal damage. He was ordered to pay £42.24 compensation.
• Daniel David Kilshaw, 39, of High Street, Newport, pleaded guilty to theft from a shop. He was ordered to pay £8.99 compensation.
• Ryan Scott Kessell, 29, of Victoria Road in Newport, admitted using violence to secure entry into a premises and causing harassment, alarm or distress. He was fined £120, ordered to pay £85 costs with a £95 surcharge and tod to complete 10 rehabilitation days.
• Augusto Guttierrez Javier, 62, of Barton Road in Newport, pleaded guilty to causing harassment, alarm or distress and possession of a bladed article. He was ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and pay costs of £85 with a £95 surcharge.
• Rebecca Lauren Tuckey, 25, of Hookes Way in Newport, pleaded guilty to using threatening/abusive/insulting words or behaviour. She was given an 18 month conditional discharge and told to pay costs of £85 with a £22 surcharge.
• Michael Robert Bunce, 42, of Newport Street in Ryde, was ordered to pay £39.98 compensation for theft from a shop. He was told to pay £85 costs. He admitted commissioning a further offence against a conditional discharge – for this he was fined £120.
• Peter Thomas Mellanby-Smith, 37, of Arthur Street in Ryde, admitted drink and drug driving and driving without due care and attention. He was disqualified from driving for 16 months, told to complete 200 hours of unpaid work and pay costs of £85 with a £95 surcharge. Mellanby-Smith also pleaded guilty to failing to stop following an accident and failing to report.
• Hakan Yaylagul, 49, of Pams Way in Epsom, Surrey, pleaded guilty to drink driving. He was given 10 penalty points on his driving licence, fined £481 and told to pay £85 costs with a £48 surcharge.
• Richard Wetherick, 43, of Pellhurst Road in Ryde, admitted assault x2. He was fined £40 and told to pay £85 costs with a £34 surcharge.

Most of these sentences are an absolute waste of time opening up a court the punishment is ridiculous as soon as they got outside they all must of been doing cartwheel justice system needs overhauling
