The Isle of Wight has missed out on receiving any new coveted Michelin Stars this year, it has been revealed.
The Michelin Red Guide, the oldest and best-known European hotel and restaurant reference guide, awards Michelin stars for excellence to a select few establishments. The acquisition or loss of a star can have dramatic effects on the success of a restaurant.
Unfortunately, no Island establishments made it into the Michelin Guide of Great Britain & Ireland for 2015, the third time since 1999 that the Isle of Wight has received no stars.
Inspectors visited the Island back in May.
It comes following the recent shake up of popular establishments including The George and The Hamborough.
The last star was held by Robert Thompson and The Hambrough between 2009 and 2013.
