goldtheftkiriInvestigations are this week continuing into the theft of items from a gentleman’s home on the day of his granddaughters funeral.

Several items were stolen from a property in Victoria Road, Sandown sometime between Tuesday 21st January and Sunday 26th January, however Police believe the theft took place on Friday 24th – the day of the funeral for 14-year-old Kiri-Jade Hodgkinson, who tragically died following a road traffic collision on The Downs earlier this year.

Police have this week released a photograph of a 10″ heavy gold bracelet in a green presentation box, one of several items stolen during the burglary. A brown metal cash tin with ‘dad’ printed on it which contained up to £500 of cash, a gold sovereign ring and a plain gold wedding band were also stolen.

Anyone with information, or who has been offered a bracelet like the one on the photograph, is asked to call Newport Police Station, on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
