INDEPEDENT LIFEBOAT WINS COMMUNITY FUND


sandownshanklinlifeboatThe team behind Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat are celebrating their success of receiving an amazing £3000 grant this week after winning 32.98% of the votes in the Lloyds Bank Community Fund competition.

The unique competition saw a number of charities across the Island nominated for the chance to win the generous grant, with customers voting both online and in branch for the charity of their choice.

Taking a high percentage of the votes against three other Island charities, SSILB will now purchase new, specially designed search and rescue lifejackets.

Ryde Inshore Rescue, the Earl Mountbatten Hospice and St Catherine’s School have all received £300.
