“We are delighted to be able to help with this great event and our staff’s initiative to suggest running the extra services reflects the team’s dedication and commitment towards our customers.”

The Great South Run involves a fast and flat 10 mile route which passes iconic Portsmouth sites including Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and the Spinnaker Tower.  Every year the event attracts a plethora of athletes, celebrities and runners raising money for good causes, with over £30million having been raised for charity.

Cllr Linda Symes, Portsmouth City Council Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Sport said:

“Very pleased with Hovertravel’s commitment to the city and the event. The staff should be applauded for their dedication.”

The extra services will depart at 07:45, 08:00, 08:15 and 08:30 from Hovertravel’s Ryde terminal. To book a seat on one of these additional services, tickets can be purchased online at www.hovertravel.com or at both terminals.
