Local Historian Roger Fruen is to talk about the life of little sweep Valentine Gray at an event at Lord Louis Library in Newport.
This year marks the 200th anniversary of the death of Valentine, an event commemorated by Newport and Carisbrooke Community Council on 31st January.
Many myths and legends surround the tragic life and death of the little sweep, which Mr Fruen hopes to clarify in his talk.
The event is to be held next Saturday (19th March) at 18:00. Entrance costs £5 with all proceeds going to the Isle of Wight Youth Trust. Details on how to book the last few remaining tickets may be found in the poster below.
