HENRY ADAMS VOTED IN FOR RYDE EAST

pollingstationHenry Adams, a former Isle of Wight Councillor, has been elected to Ryde Town Council for Ryde East following a by-election held yesterday (Thursday).

The by-election took place after the sad death of Cllr David Knowles back in June of this year and saw Mr Adams, who lost his seat on the Isle of Wight Council Cllr Wayne Whittle back in 2009, elected for the Ryde East ward with a total of 368 votes.

Ian Jenkins, Chair of the Ryde Swimming Pool Association, took 201 votes ahead of Cllr Phil Jordan – who asked people to vote for Henry Adams – with 17 votes.
The turnout was 19.95%. Two papers were rejected.
