The number of Island residents claiming the unemployment benefit Jobseekers Allowance has fallen considerably year-on-year, it has been announced by the Office for National Statistics.
In December 2013, 3080 people were claiming JSA compared to 3701 in December 2012 – a drop of 621 claimants.
With the winter setting in, however, last month saw a rise of 68 claimants compared to November.
