Paddington lives in London but he’s heading down to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway next month.
On 17th and 18th October, Paddington will be making appearances at intervals on each day, so fans have the chance to see him and have their picture taken from a socially distanced photo point.
Steve Backhouse, General Manager at The Isle of Wight Steam Railway, says:
“We’re ready to make this much loved bear feel welcome at Havenstreet. Visitors will have the chance to see Paddington™ at intervals over the weekend and they will even find some special themed food in our refreshment room during the day. We can’t wait to welcome everyone over this special weekend!”
Visitors attending over the weekend will need to purchase tickets to the railway, at standard entry prices. They will have the chance to see Paddington around Havenstreet at various intervals during the course of both days.
Originally from darkest Peru, Paddington found a new home with the Brown family when he arrived in London (at Paddington Station, hence his name!) And did you know Paddington’s favourite food is marmalade? He eats it straight from the jar or in a marmalade sandwich. In fact, he always keeps a marmalade sandwich under his hat ‘for emergencies’.
Pre-booking train tickets to the Isle of Wight Steam Railway is strongly encouraged. They are available to purchase via the website at https://iwsteamrailway.co.uk/events/.
