The free event, which is sponsored and produced by Red Funnel, is being held at Northwood House on 14th September and will feature the very best local produce. The show will include food and drink stalls, gifts, crafts, a barn dance and a harvest craft tent for children.
Chef Robert Thompson, who won the Isle of Wight its only Michelin star in 2008, will be making an appearance at the cookery theatre and there will also be an interactive beekeeping display with honey tastings.
Red Funnel is also urging local gardeners to bring their home-grown fruit and vegetables to the next Cowes Food Show. Keen gardeners are encouraged to enter their best produce for the chance to win a deluxe hamper full of local produce worth £50.
Jonathan Green, Marketing and Communications Director at Red Funnel, said:
“We are delighted to be organising another Cowes Food Show to showcase to mainland visitors the quality and range of products available at this time of year from a wide selection of Island producers. Our commitment to the Isle of Wight’s food and drink sector is underpinned by our sponsorship of the Royal Isle of Wight Agricultural Society’s ‘Wight Marque’ accreditation scheme and our desire to feature more locally sourced food and drink onboard our ferries”.
Red Funnel is running a two for £12 offer for the Red Jet Hi-Speed ferry service for the show and visitors will be able to catch a free ride on a vintage open top bus to Northwood House.
Entries to the ‘Grow Your Own’ competition must be received by 10:30 on the day of the show.
