Lockdown restrictions imposed on the Isle of Wight throughout November appear to have had a positive impact, with the number of cases falling locally.
According to new figures released by health officials, the rolling 7-day average of new cases of COVID-19, in the 7 days leading up to 28th November, is lower than it was the previous week.
It seems unlikely at this stage that the Isle of Wight will be bumped up to Tier 2 restrictions as cases are falling, not rising – a common theme across the country.
In the 7 days up until 28th November, there were 44 new cases of COVID-19 confirmed on the Isle of Wight – 31.0 cases per 100,000 population. That is a drop from 79 new cases the previous week, or 55.7 cases per 100,000 population.
Positive coronavirus cases have dropped by 28% across England, according to the latest Test and Trace figures.
A total of 976 cases have been confirmed on the Isle of Wight since the start of the pandemic.
Wait until mid Jan. Once the wallets and purses of the masses have been emptied over Christmas and New Year, then, and ONLY then will the true numbers be forthcoming.
The USA has had the worst day for CV cases, as many ignored warnings to have their thanksgiving day just with family.
So, expect the same here over the Christmas and New Year get togethers, as you say Apples, cases will rise dramatically in mid Jan.
But so long as till’s keep pinging, then little else matters to some.
The numbers have decreased because the holiday makers from the mainland are not back and forth. Wait until the new year and see what the figures are then….with lapse restrictions over Christmas, the numbers may rise again. Don’t become too complacent everybody.
So the bed wetters will be running with open arms for this so called vaccine, you know the type that wear masks 24/7 , jump out the way if you pass them ( even into the road off the pavement) yeah that type. But what they don’t realise is, even after the the vax, the restrictions will still stay. For many normally people that doesn’t may sense, but for the bed wetters ,adds to their safety. God help us!

Yet the mask wearing bed wetters still believe the liars (government) and think this is all about a virus! We know there is a virus, a virus that kills less then the flu, yet they are still willing to put themselves, and us I might add ,into a prison for the rest of time!

I cannot accept that we destroy life’s, jobs etc over a virus that kills less then the flu (ons fact) and average age of death is 82, life expectancy in UK 81!!! So I will have a clear conscience , unlike you , that has helped destroy our way of life!

So here is a question for you: Why do you think it is that covid has killed less than the flu and how many would have died/suffer long covid if restrictions had not been taken?
