A number of Council services are set to be disrupted by strike action tomorrow (Thursday).
Although every effort is being made to confirm plans ahead of the day, union members do not need to tell their employers of their intention to strike until the day itself meaning last minute changes could be possible.
As previously reported by Island Echo, members of the Fire Brigades Union (FBU) will take part in industrial action between 10:00 and 19:00. Contingency arrangements will be in place with fire cover provided by non-FBU members and mainland firefighters.
Floating bridge
The Cowes floating bridge will be out of service on Thursday 10 July. A passenger launch will be in operation. Vehicles will be diverted via Newport.
Museums
The Museum of Island History, Newport will be closed on Thursday 10 July. All other council-run museums to open as normal.
Libraries
The two council libraries due to open on Thursday 10 July, the Lord Louis in Newport and Ryde Library will be closed. In addition, there will be no mobile library service.
Schools
