Wessex Cancer Trust’s drive-in Christmas cinema will return to the Isle of Wight at the beginning of December, it has been announced.

Tickets have been released for Drive-in Films for Christmas, which will feature 6 epic festive films screened over 2 days.

The films to be screened on the Saturday are Frozen, Elf and The Holiday. On the Sunday, visitors can choose from The Polar Express, How The Grinch Stole Christmas and Love Actually.

All films will be aired on a giant LED screen, with the soundtrack played through each car radio.

Community Engagement Manager Lorraine White said:

“After the year we’ve all had, we thought Islanders could do with something to look forward to and what better way to welcome Christmas than with a weekend of festive films?

“From family favourites to classic Christmas rom coms, we will be showing them all on a giant LED screen in the car park at Robin Hill.

“Grab your hot snacks and drinks on site before snuggling down in the comfort and safety of your own car with your family and favourite festive film.

“It’s been a tough year for everyone, Wessex Cancer Trust included, so please show your support for our first real event since lockdown and let’s get Christmas 2020 started in style.”

The event will take place with COVID-19 restrictions and social-distancing rules in place.

Tickets for each screening are limited and are available now at www.wessexcancer.org.uk/drive-in-2020. The suggested donation is £25 per car.

All money raised will help Wessex Cancer Trust support Islanders affected by cancer.
