The festive spirit flooded through Ryde yesterday (Sunday) as the annual Christmas carnival procession made its way through the town.
Acting as the grand finale to Ryde’s Dickensian Christmas Extravaganza, the small carnival proceeded from Dover Street, down through the High Street and Union Street to the Esplanade shortly after 4pm with a variety of floats, bands and vehicles.
Firefighters from Ryde lead the parade with a pumping appliance.
On Saturday, Shanklin’s High Street was transformed into a market street with Christmas-themed stalls and activities, as well as live music.
