Carisbrooke Rangers, from the Senior Section of Girlguiding IW, had a stand at the Isle of Wight Council’s Short Breaks Funday last Friday (24th July) at Medina Leisure Centre.
Carisbrooke Rangers are a short breaks provider so organised a stand to promote Rangers and encourage new members. As well as informing members of the public about the organisation, the Rangers also spoke to a number of potential Rainbows, Brownies and Guides and their parents/guardians.
As part of the information given out, members of the public were given details of the Girlguiding IW website address (www.girlguidingisleofwight.co.uk) where new members can register using ‘Join Us’.
There was a good response from the Rangers who helped the Short Breaks team run different activities such as the bouncy castle, craft stall and walking a minion around the event, as well as helping on the stand.
Summer short breaks activities and facilities are available to book now. For information and how to book, visit www.iwight.com/shortbreaks. Short breaks give children and young people with disabilities and/or additional needs access fun activities, clubs and social groups.
