An Isle of Wight marine advertising and marketing communications agency has won an international award for the website it designed for the Ferretti Group UK dealer Ventura.
Against 88 other entries, Cowes-based Creative Partners’ website for Ventura won ‘Best in Class’ in the ‘Lifestyle’ category of the Interactive Media Awards organised by the Interactive Media Council. With an innovative look, unlike anything else currently in the yachting and boating sector, the ground-breaking site sets a new benchmark for web design in the yachting industry.
Ventura is the UK dealer for all the motor yacht brands from the Ferretti Group, and the site contains comprehensive image libraries and information on all the current models: 47 production boats from Ferretti Yachts, Pershing, Riva, Mochi Craft, Itama, Bertram, Ferretti Custom Line and Ferretti Navetta, plus the custom yachts built by CRN.
These boats which are sold by Ventura range in price from around £400,000 to over £30million, so the target audience for the website is very wealthy and their time is precious. Everything about the site therefore had to be very quick and easy to access. With that in mind, Creative Partners took a particularly innovative approach to the presentation of the boats, using a highly pictorial front end that is extremely quick to browse, supported by indepth descriptions and technical data on each boat which are accessible with no more than two clicks. There is also a ‘quick search’ facility to navigate instantly to details of a specific new boat or pre-owned model for sale.
Data gathered from email marketing campaigns that Creative Partners has produced for Ventura has shown that over 90% of Ventura’s customers read their e-shots on smartphones. It was therefore paramount that the website should be made fully ‘responsive’ so that it would be as easy to view and navigate on smartphones and tablets as it is on full size monitors and laptop screens.
