The staff at Osborne House in East Cowes have been celebrating 130th wedding anniversary of Princess Beatrice & Prince Henry Battenberg with a slice of Battenberg cake!
130 years ago yesterday on the 23 July 1885, Princess Beatrice, youngest child of Queen Victoria, married Prince Henry of Battenberg.
The wedding took place at Saint Mildred’s Church at Whippingham, near Osborne, and the wedding reception – a grand affair with marquees on the lawns – took place at Osborne House.
