An Isle of Wight waste removal firm has stepped in after piles of rubbish were dumped by travelling tourists in Sandown yesterday (Monday).
Whilst investigating another news story, Island Echo’s reporter came across fly-tipping next to Dinosaur Isle off Culver Parade. Tourists visiting the seaside told our reporter that a number of large campervans had been parked there over the past few days.
A photograph of the rubbish was posted on the Island Echo Facebook Page, which was spotted by Wight Waste & Services. Equally disgusted by the actions of the unknown individuals, the firm stepped in to voluntarily clear the eyesore at their own cost.
Within just hours of the rubbish being discovered it was safely and professionally cleared and no longer poses a risk to children, wildlife and the environment.
Gives all responsible campavan owners a bad name. Very angry at these people.
Vans have also parked overnight in Yaverland car park.

Walk my dog down there each morning saw one woman lob a bag of rubbish into the bushes next to where they were camping pick up rubbish in that car park every morning no bins so chuck it on the floor.Council charges at least £4.00 to park there but when I approached a road sweeper he said it wasn’t his responsibility to clear the rubbish there so left to volunteers to pick it up.

Heard about this group from some friends of ours who have a Motorhome, this group of people had hired their Motorhomes so not your normal respectful Motorhomers. All the Motorhomers I know not only take all their rubbish away, they very often pick up rubbish left by others! With everybody holidaying in the UK at the moment a lot of people like the pigs that have left this mess are hiring Motorhomes and giving the Motorhome fraternity a bad name.
