After a successful 1st season in the Hampshire League for Under 12s, the Wight Eagles are back for pre-season training and are now seeking new players for the forthcoming season.
The Under 12s are moving on up to Under 13 level for another competitive season in Hampshire Div 3, where they hope to maintain their fine form.
The Academy has now set up 2 new teams: Wight Eagles U11s and Wight Eagles U15s. Both teams will be entering the Hampshire League for the 1st time. There are also teams at a lower age level from the age of 6.
Head of Youth at Wight Eagles, Dan Verstraeten, said:
“This is an amazing next step for our girls both new teams have been working hard over the last year to get ready for Hampshire League football and fully deserve the chance to show that women’s football is on the up and well respected.
“We are slowly building the club to the level we want it and also have set the foundations for our senior team, and the academy is already providing the seniors with 5 girls that have signed up to make the step up. They all give us a lot of pride that we are doing the right things to help the women’s game.”
