Some Isle of Wight households have either not received their 2025/26 recycling and waste collection calendars or have received incorrect versions – and the Council say Islanders missing their booklet need to request a new one.
While the majority of booklets have been delivered successfully, the Isle of Wight Council says it is aware that some households have not received one at all. Additionally, residents in areas including Ryde and Wootton have reported being sent the wrong calendar, with incorrect collection days listed.
The 2024/25 calendar expired this week – but households should keep hold of them for now to help work out what collection is due, ahead of a new calendar being delivered.
The council has apologised for the inconvenience and is encouraging anyone affected to report the issue using an online form.
A spokesperson said the issue is being investigated and that correct calendars will be sent to those who report problems.
Anyone who has not received their booklet can submit a request via https://www.iow.gov.uk/recycling-and-waste/education/annual-booklet/.
If you have received an incorrect waste calendar e-mail the waste team with your full address, which calendar you have been sent, and which calendar you should have on [email protected].
So, let me see…
Our wonderful Waste and Recycling department are able to come up with no end of hair-brained schemes and countless ‘suggestions’ that seem to always cost the Council Tax Payer more and more, yet, a SIMPLE task of issuing collection calendars to the public is beyond them!!
you really couldn’t make it up!
We are run by persons who make expensive
balls up and expect us council tax payers to
bail them out.
Enough is Enough
So due to a W.F.H. admin error, more rubbish
as been generated.
Doesn’tsurprise me
Lol
Why not just go paperless, posting schedule online? Surely less paper to fill the recycling bins too.AND CHEAPER !
As a Council Tax payer I would rather not pay for a booklet to be printed and delivered. Most people know or can easily find out their collection days from the website. Anyone that does not use the internet could telephone and ask for a calendar to be sent. That would save some un-necessary cost to tax payers.
Only some jumped up numpty who cannot obviously do her or her job properly! As usual , there will be no one accountable and these people are great at wasting our money. Make each department have a budget.
Just a quick one, Horsebridge hill development I have heard a lot of refugees and asylum to be housed here. What has happened to our country, it’s sad when we give our national identity away to people who have contributed nothing to our once great country.
Our Island has become much like the rest of the country, and soon people with not come here to visit. Sorry tourism and businesses but thank the council and the old Freemasons feather my own cap brigade.
