A charity rugby match between Ventnor RFC XV and the Island’s emergency services will be held in memory of former player and local firefighter, Martin Poynter.
Both sides will be taking part in the charity fundraising event on Saturday 22nd December in a bid to lift the The Martin Poynter Memorial Cup, whilst also raising vital funds for The Martin Poynter Trust.
Martin, a well-respected rugby player and firefighter, was taken from us in 2015 at the age of just 49 following a stroke.
All are welcome to Watcombe Bottom on Whitwell Road, Ventnor on Saturday 22nd December for a 13:30 kick off. The clubhouse bar will be open from 12 noon and into the evening.
All monies raised will be going to The Martin Poynter Trust, which supports The Stroke Association on the Isle of Wight.
