Ventnor Rugby Club is preparing for the forthcoming season, which begins on Saturday 3rd September.
Pre-season training is in full swing, every Tuesday and Thursday at Watcombe. All players, old and new are welcome to work on fitness and core skills.
Every Wednesday evening – starting at 18:00 – there are popular touch rugby sessions open to all: men and women, girls and boys. This is a chance to work on passing skills, support play, and general fitness, overseen by coach Fergus Kenny.
This Friday (15th July), there is a cricket match being played at Watcombe between Ventnor Rugby Club and Ventnor Football Club, starting at 18:00.
On Saturday 6th August, the club holds its annual Awards and BBQ evening.
The season for the 1st XV gets underway Havant at home on Saturday 3rd September. Supporting this fixture will be The John Adams Memorial Match, in which a combined team from the Hurricanes and the Isle of Wight clubs will play against a select Ventnor XV.
