Firefighters from Newport and Shanklin are this afternoon (Saturday) attending a fire at the Wight Mouse Inn pub in Chale.
The Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at 14:45 following reports of a tumble drier alight, with two pumping appliances now in attendance.
Crews are working to extinguish the small fire, which according to witnesses has created a lot of smoke.
The incident comes just 7 weeks after firefighters were called to extinguish another small fire in the staff room of the food and drink establishment.
UPDATE @ 15:11 – The white tumble drier has been removed from the property, with firefighters currently ventilating the building.
UPDATE @ 15:24 – Both appliances have now left the scene. The pub remains open for business.
