Shanklin Sandown Rowing Club had some excellent results – including a trio of victories – at the Coalporters Regatta in Southampton on Saturday 18th June.
Shanklin Sandown rowers took 1st and 2nd place in the Ladies’ Junior Sculls, with Emily Faithfull winning the race and Yasmin Wright claiming an excellent runners-up spot.
The Shanklin Sandown Ladies junior pair of Kayleigh Batchelor and Yasmin Wright coped well with the blustery conditions to secure a 4th win and another point in their quest for the Hants & Dorset championship. Kayleigh also won the Ladies’ Senior Sculls Race for the 2nd successive regatta.
Shanklin Sandown’s Alex Robertson had a solid row in his 2nd race since returning to the sport, but a tough semi-final draw in the Men’s Senior Sculls, saw him just miss out on a place in the final.
