St Peter’s Shorwell is commemorating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee by asking parishioners to partake in the Water of Life.
A spokesperson for St Peter’s Shorwell has said:
“Water is a necessity for all life. Dwelling places grew up around water sources. Shorwell was no different. Northcourt Manor’s grounds contain a spring, the Shor Well, which feeds a stream, one of the tributaries of the Buddle Brook. The Wells of Shorwell invites you to celebrate our life here in the parish.

As Defender of the Faith, Queen Elizabeth has also often referred to her faith as a source of strength and comfort. Therefore, we invite you to celebrate both our heritage here in Shorwell and also the long reign of Queen Elizabeth.”
St Peter’s will celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee with the following events:
Friday 27th – Tuesday 31st May: Flower festival in St Peter’s Church 10:00 to 16:30
Saturday 28th May: Charity Ploughman’s Lunch for the Church Latin Link.
Sunday 29th May: Thanksgiving Service in St Peter’s Church 16:00. Refreshments in Church all day. Cream Teas 14:00 to 16:00.
