policetapePolice are today appealing for information after around £2000 in cash and a number of items of jewellery were stolen during a burglary in Sandown.
Two suspects are believed to have forced entry through a garage door before helping themselves to the cash and expensive jewellery in an office, including 48 sovereigns and a Hunter watch.
The incident took place at around 11.20pm on Tuesday at an address in Newport Road in Lake on the outskirts of Sandown.
The property owner, a 73-year-old man, chased the suspects to Sandown Airfield, but lost them in the vast grounds.
The first suspect is described as

  • 5ft 7ins tall w
  • earing a dark blue or grey top with the hoody up and dark coloured trousers.

The second suspect, of similar appearance, is described as White, a

  • lim build, we
  • aring a royal blue and white horizontal striped top which had a grey hood and dark trousers. The suspect was also wearing
  • a light coloured scarf covering his face.
